The time has come to celebrate Gudi Padwa today, an auspicious occasion, as the sky is painted with the colours of spring and the air is filled with the delicious aroma of celebratory foods!!

Celebrated with great excitement, this traditional Hindu celebration comes in the New Year in various Indian states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.

Gudi Padwa, also known as Ugadi, Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, or Cheti Chand, holds a special place in the hearts of millions of Indians. Falling on the first day of the Chaitra month according to the Hindu calendar, this festival symbolises new beginnings, prosperity, and the triumph of good over evil.

The term ‘Gudi’ refers to a decorated flag or cloth adorned with flowers, neem leaves, and a kalash (pot), which is hoisted outside homes as a symbol of victory and auspiciousness.
