Budget Symposium @ SIBM Pune
SYMPOSIUM 2017
The Research and Scholastic Development Team (RSDT) organized their flagship event “Budget Symposium- A penny for your thoughts” on 25th February 2017 to provide insights and trajectory set by the Union Budget to the students.
Many eminent personalities from the finance, banking and economic sectors were invited as panelists for the occasion and included-
Mr. Saugata Bhattacharya, Senior Vice President & Chief Economist, Axis Bank,
Mr. Tamal Bandyopadhyay, Adviser, Strategy at Bandhan Bank & Consulting Editor, Mint,
Mr. Nitin Vijaivergia, Partner – Indirect Taxes, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC),
Mr. Puneet Pal, Head – Fixed Income, BNP Paribas ,
Mr. Ketan Doshi, Head – New Business Development & EA to President, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and the moderator for the discussion was Mr. Tarun Bothra, Founder & MD, GreyBricks. There was also a video message by Ms. Monika Halan, consulting editor at Mint.
Keynote address was given by Mr Saugata Bhattacharya, the discussions, namely- Union Budget 2017: A message of stability and responsibility and Union Budget 2017: Sectoral Impact and its outlook for FY18 which focused on specific aspects of Union Budget 2017 in which the government had carried on with its Transform-India mission started in 2016, by a continued focus on rural, social welfare, infra, ease-of-doing business, fiscal prudence and tax reforms.
Symposium 2017 was an enriching experience for the students of SIBM, Pune.
