SIBM Pune, in association with STLRC ( the Symbiosis Teaching and Learning Resource Center ) organized a wonderful Faculty Development Program today on Design Thinking, which is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. It is most useful to tackle ill-defined or unknown problems and involves five phases: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test.
Specifically in Education, and typically Management Education, Design Thinking allows students to acquire and experience creative mastery by providing a creative problem solving process, creative work-spaces and collaboration in multi-perspective teams. SIBM had organized this workshop specially for the benefit of our University faculty. it was indeed nice to see faculty members from different Institutes come together to attend the workshop!! Dr. V. V Ravi Kumar, Dy Director ( Academics ), SIBM, coordinated the workshop capably…
A special thanks to Prof SVK Bharati and Prof Mandar who conducted the workshop.. we could not have had better resource persons for it!! I am sure all participants would have not just enjoyed it, but gained hugely from it! Thanks also to Dr Sophia Gaikwad, Head, STLRC.. this is all part of our initiatives to build Capability in our own faculty, so that, they in turn do the same with our students!!
In SIBM, the interest of our students is always close to our heart !!
