Many times simple choices do not hold much significance. They often appear inconsequential. There are times when decisions aren’t that easy to make. I made a big decision (joining SIBM) a little while ago. It was indispensable. I do not know if I am right or wrong but I am sure where I have come. Now that I have arrived, the next challenge is to discover where I am heading. It is important because if I am not able to discover what I want from myself, I would be wasting the next two years of my life.

We all have different desires and dreams. One thing common is that all of us face dilemmas. Joining SIBM would have been a dream come true for many of the aspirants. There are many who might have desired a better B-school and might have joined this institute as a compromise. Sooner or later, we are all asked to compromise the things we care about. At each stage we will find dilemmas to choose one thing over the other, in both professional and personal lives. It is essential to understand that we define ourselves by our actions. With each such decision, we tell ourselves and the world who we are. Therefore, it is critical to accept that we are an integral part of this institute or else the next two years, life will inevitably be passive and unfulfilled.

…and what’s not to like about this place?

Campus. Good! …Faculty. Good! …People. Good! …Culture. Good! …Hostels. Good! …Sports. Good! …Food. Umm? (I have eaten worse. Trust me, the food is good.)

I am proud that I am a part of SIBM Pune, the flagship institute of Symbiosis International University. It is one of the finest b-schools and has the most beautiful campus in the country. The pleasant weather adds beauty to the panoramic landscapes. The university lives up to its name – ‘Symbiosis’ quite literally. Interacting with students from school of photography, business and finance, telecom management, media and communication provides a wonderful exposure to different outlooks.

The following quote by Haruki Murakami will keep inspiring and motivating me throughout my journey at SIBM-Pune.

“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”
