The final rounds of #The #Grand #Pitch… the marquee event of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune MBA ( Innovation and Entrepreneurship ) program were held today on campus.. and what an event it was..!!!
We had a total of 240 + entries for the competition, which is modeled somewhat on Shark Tank.. and after multiple screening rounds, 12 made their final pitch today before 10 seasoned Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors.. and the total funding raised today by the successful startups, was to the tune of Rs. 25.6 crores, including future short term funding… an increase over last year of Rs. 3.1 crores!
An amazing job done by the pitching startups who faced some terrific grilling from the investors… and by the investors themselves… and of course by our amazing students from our Entrepreneurship Cell… very well done, my dear students !! Great job also done by all our faculty and staff members too in making this event such a success! What also made the event so special was the presence of our beloved Chancellor Dr Mujumdar Sir, who came to bless the event and the startups!!
This event is the brainchild of our Vice Chancellor Dr Ramakrishnan Raman, who started it when he was Director of SIBM Pune … the little sapling he planted, and nurtured, is growing so strongly… great foresight!! We will take this up even more strongly in the future!
