Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune was privileged to host Mr. Sonam Wangchuk for an interactive session with MBA and MBA (Innovation & Entrepreneurship) students.
Mr. Wangchuk is admirably reputed for being a Ladakhi engineer, innovator and education reformist and popularly known his school that was shown the movie “3 Idiots”.
He is the founding-director of the Students’ Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) which was founded in 1988 by a group of students who had been in his own words, the ‘victims’ of an alien education system foisted on Ladakh. He is also known for designing the SECMOL campus that runs on solar energy and uses no fossil fuels for cooking, lighting or heating and the Ice Stupa technique that creates artificial glaciers, used for storing winter water. Our sincere gratitude to Mr. Wangchuk for giving the students new perspectives, that will definitely serve as an inspiration in the future to come.
