Mr. Dhruv Dhawan, Industry head for BFSI and Healthcare, Google and an alumnus of the 2002 batch of SIBM-Pune, visited the Lavale campus as part of AlumSpeak event, organized by the SIBM Pune Alumni Team . Being involved in the field of Digital Media and IT , and also having worked with organizations like Bharti Airtel, Accenture, Mr. Dhawan, shared his experiences and explained how the knowledge he gained in diverse fields is helping him at Google. The undertone of the address was ‘Digital Marketing- How it is transforming the world and is set to take off in the near future’ an Indian perceptive.

He shared that the consumers are changing and adapting faster than the companies and hence it is imperative that a company understands its customers, learns how and where to connect with them better . By citing successful projects of Google in collaboration with L’oreal and Snapdeal, Mr. Dhawan emphasized the need to analyze and interpret big data in marketing, and the power the tool holds in a digital world.

The students were enlightened on the varied aspects of digital marketing and understood the importance of data analytics in different sectors of business.
