SIBM Pune Alumnus is one among the 152 Indian civilians who have successfully reached the summit of Everest!

As per the Himalayan Database, till 2017, only 151 Indian civilians have successfully reached the summit of Everest! Very few amongst them, being full time business management professionals. It gives me great pride to share with you, that after four years of hard training Vikas Dimri is an alumnus of SIBM Pune (MBA-2000) on his 2nd attempt, scaled Mt Everest on 18th May, at 6.18 am.

Vikas Dimri is an alumnus of SIBM Pune (MBA-2000) and is currently Director, Head – SME Trade & Working Capital Finance at Deutsche Bank AG. He is the first SIBM Pune alumnus who scaled Mt Everest on 18th May 2018 and that for us is a matter of great pride!

On 11th April 2018, he arrived in Kathmandu to undertake the expedition from the South side of Everest. Over the next 30 days, he trekked up to the Everest Base Camp and spent time climbing up and down the mountain to get acclimatized to higher altitudes and made him self ready for the final trek

In the wee hours of 14th May, he left from the base camp on the final summit push to ascend to 6400 mts altitude . Over the next 2 days and nights he climbed to reach the top to be greeted by a spectacular sunrise and an unrestricted view the top of the world!

No climb is complete, until one descends to the base safely. He and his team reached the Base Camp in one stretch, to celebrate accomplishment of his dreams!
