SIBM, Pune –My story My Experience

All of us who are here have been through a process of elimination/selection which ever suits you better. As we cut through a lot of competition to reach one of the good B-school to do an MBA. We gave exams like SNAP, CAT, XAT etc and finally got to SIBM Pune one of the good B school in India. For me the experience was a roller costar ride. I converted in the 27th May list but I did not check the result on site. I got the admission letter on 1st June with 2nd June being the last date to submit fee. So I rushed for fee submission and reached here on 3rd June in the evening.

When I reached I saw that there was a induction planned for 10 days with various activities including address from senior faculties and golden words from few top people from the Symbiosis international university, thoughts of wisdom from alumnus on specialization- what to expect and what kind of roles you can get after each specialization which made it easier to decide on the specialization to choose and it also included team building exercises.

The parts that were most touching to me were the beauty and location of campus, meeting up with new people and making new friend and those words of wisdom imparted on us. The team building exercises were a real fun especially the act where people were to enact on a situation given to them and the last of tam member had to guess the situation. In this activity team consisted of 5-6 persons. It showed how the message gets distorted when passed through each level in communication mostly giving the lesson that the lesser the levels between message sender and receiver the easier it is to perceive the message in right context.

Also the talent round had some real good moments with people showcasing their talent. But a few stole the show with powerful performances. Also the level of creativity and humor shown by teams was amazing. I would like to thank the faculty, seniors and administrators for organizing this induction program. It was a good experience and an indicator to what we can expect in the next 2 years.
